The sun was just rising above the ocean, not many people would be here for a few hours. Dart glanced at the pack of matches in his hand. These were his tool to advance him in his attempt to wield fire. He lit one and stared at the flame.
Dart held the stick in his right hand and focused, the flame grew and engulfed his right arm, that was the easiest part. He then touched one hand to the other. He drew back his left hand in pain. 'd**n that's hot!' He thought, so lighting both arms wouldn't be as easy as lighting one, that sucked...
He attempted to control the flame and bring it into a ball of fire.... The flame seceded to his fist, farther then last time, and a began to form into a ball. 'Yes!' He thought, prematurely. The ball grew to the size of a baseball and exploded in his face. He fell back, glad that not many were here to see him fail like this. He looked himself over, there were no burns on any part of him, that was a relief. He needed a break. He laid down in the sand of the beach and closed his eyes for a moment.

Renor wasn't usually in this area, tending to stick to areas near swamps that were cool, dark, and dank, but her most recent customer was very uncomfortable meeting in a place like that. So, despite her usually very unkind and unwavering manner, she had made an exception. This guy paid a lot for her wares so she had cared less than usual. And this was where she found herself. At the hot beach, near some body of water that was mostly clean. She shuddered. It was disgusting.
Therefore, when she sat to wait for the sun to finish rising, she heard flames somewhere. She tilted her head, listening to the sound. She smiled and followed the sound to the source, making no sound herself. She grinned, watching the man purposefully catching himself on fire. She held back her laugh, snorting a little when he pulled back his left hand. She watched him trying to control the ball of flame the second time, getting excited prematurely. She couldn't help herself.
She fell over with laughter, not caring if he noticed her. That was the most funny thing she had seen in a while, and it had made her trip her worth it. Her laughter was like her element, dark and icy, yet melodic and beautiful in a twisted way. It carried over the land like the wildfire exploding in his face.

Laughter? This seemed almost siren like, danger engulfed in beauty. Then Dart caught sight of the one laughing. The laughter seemed to fit her appearance. He was struck by the beauty of this girl, and yet felt the same kind of fear and danger that her laughter gave voice to so well.
He pulled himself to his feet, lured in by this lady, not quite sure what he was doing. "Heya, I'm Dart... Sorry you had to see that pathetic display of my abilities. I'm fairly new at this," he said with a certain confidence, though trying not to come off as overconfident.

Renor jumped up quickly, all laughter gone, when he began to approach. She stuck her staff out in front of her, a defensive stance.
"I would suggest you stop now, or lose the use of your legs for a while. And with that display, I doubt you'd last long in any form of battle."
